The market for interim management

The most common reason a client chooses an interim solution is to cover up a management position during a recruitment process. It often becomes a gap when someone leaves the company until a successor is recruited and is in place.

Other common reasons is to get an emergency stand-in for a long sick leave and to hire an interim manager for structural and organizational changes. Our recruitment process with the client takes about two weeks and from the client’s decision on candidate until the assignment starts a few days. Therefore, your availability is crucial to be considered for a specific assignment.

The most common interim assignments in the market is within finance, followed by assignments within HR. Companies have fewer opportunities to find internal solutions for those roles and the assignments don’t usually require a specific industry experience. Interim assignments that are strongly linked to the core business are more limited and have requirements similar to recruitment for permanent positions.
